The eminent 19th century British naturalist, Sir William Jardine spent much of his life compiling the most comprehensive record of the world’s animals to date. To illustrate his monumental work he commissioned many of Britain’s finest wildlife artists and illustrators to create the drawings from which hand engravings were made.
This incredibly detailed antique lithograph is from a steel engraving done by renowned Scottish engraver, William Home Lizars (his works are displayed in many of the world’s finest art museums). The animal has been meticulously hand painted to give it a life-like appearance. This print is in excellent condition. A true work of art, it should be protected from sunlight at all times. We suggest you order with a custom frame, which includes ultraviolet filtering glazing (click "Custom Framing" button at left).

Due to the INCREDIBLY high shipping prices charged for OVERSIZE shipping, shipping charges may be higher than quoted for items that measure more than a total of 70" (matted height + width).
